Pace one. Colonize a globe.
Pace 2. Resettle the less than desirable folk.
Step 3. Change them to exist delicious and make them livestock?

That won't work if you lot're a unmarried species empire or if its your main species - you lot tin only set those options on a species level, so if you declare them livestock, your whole Empire becomes food for itself.
Damn, merely checked, you're right.

Some of my factions are at xl% and i dont recollect i can please them all. Suppressing them doesn't seem to exercise much, everyone know how long it takes to actually do anything?

I have heard that maybe "Regime Ethics Atractrion" is not having any event in ane.five.0. and ane.v.1 beta
I take however to confirm it does work in 1.v.1
that was my feeling besides
tried to Indoctrinate Natives...information technology showed some event popups that they changed their way of thinking, but overall zippo happened. That race was allready mostly my ethos, i just wanted the residual to convert as well.
on another race that was militaristic information technology did zip at all. no events, no changes.
Then i estimate the popups were just for the pops that allready had the right ethos, like "oh there is a pop with that ethos, lets inform the player"
in my ain empire i had i think 80% materialist attraction and just ten% Pacifist. The Pacifist pops fifty-fifty showed that value...years passed without them changing

And so i guess the popups were just for the pops that allready had the correct ethos, similar "oh there is a pop with that ethos, lets inform the histrion"
Actually, I think that, the popups change the GOVERNMENT ethics of the Natives.
From what you lot tin can encounter on them, their ethics, and the ratio for them to bring together ideals, it strongly looks like Natives already 'have an invisibel government' in terms of detemrining ethics.
Thus, indoctrination never changes unmarried pops (or hits 'already fitting' pops), but instead causes the equivalent of embracing-factions on native governments, which in turns, over time, shifts their popular ethics. And, more importantly, if you lot and then Uplift them, the formed Protectorate volition likely use these subconscious government ethics supposedly matching your own.
That said, it seems pre-FTLs were dialed back a lot, I've but had ii autumn in my territory in my games since i.5, and none of them in a game where I could englighten them (ethic-restrictions, normally because Xenophobe). Thus I don't yet have a lot of personal data on how the mechanics work and above is more or less a mix of second-hand ascertainment (streams, etc) and assumptions.

Aye - not played since the Banks/Utopia launch and then?
Tbh, the new options are actually much amend, despite not being able to purge individual POPs. And as I said above, managing factions isn't really that bad provided y'all're set up for it. It'south harder in a more than liberal land, I imagine.
Egalitiarns have it actually easier to stay Eglitarian. Social Wellfare + Migration pacth with another Egalitarian is all you lot need.
Some of my factions are at 40% and i dont think i can please them all. Suppressing them doesn't seem to do much, anybody know how long information technology takes to actually do anything?
Supressing reduces the Atraction for that Ethic. As such it will longterm reduce the number of pops that can join that Faction.
tried to Indoctrinate Natives...it showed some event popups that they inverse their way of thinking, but overall nothing happened. That race was allready generally my ethos, i just wanted the rest to convert too.
Really you are mixing two unrelated values upward here:
Country Attraction and Government Ethics Allure.
Indoctirnatin works past giving them a Massive Country Attraction towards your Ethics (where commonly the country attraction is x0, perhaps disabling Ethic shifts entirely).

But is information technology working? I've been suppressing 2 factions for decades with absolutely no effect at all except to waste product large amounts of influence.

Give some more details, in particular:
What Empire are y'all?
What Ethic do you have issues with?
Do yous accept Diplomatic Deals/Good relations with Empires that accept said Ethic?
